A Community Care Workshop

1.5 ETHICS CEU for Mental Health Providers
$45 includes CEUs and supplies
This Offering will focus on Self-Care through Community Connection and Reflection. Limited to 10 participants.
Workshop Description:
As helping professionals, we are taught to care deeply for others — but ethical practice requires that we also care for ourselves. In fact, the 2021 NASW Code of Ethics formally recognizes self-care as a professional and ethical responsibility.
Join us for a refreshing and interactive 1.5-hour workshop where we will explore ethical self-care practices, address burnout prevention, and reimagine care as a community-centered practice — not just an individual burden.
Through experiential activities, peer reflection, and creative exercises, participants will leave with both practical strategies and a renewed sense of connection.
Think sunscreen for the soul: small daily practices that protect and sustain us for the long road of service ahead.
Learning Objectives:
By the end of this workshop, participants will be able to:
Identify the NASW Code of Ethics standards related to self-care, including Section 4.05 (Impairment) and the 2021 addition emphasizing self-care for maintaining professional competence.
Explain the ethical implications of burnout and impairment for clinical practice.
Practice at least three experiential self-care techniques designed for integration into daily professional life.
Recognize the role of community care — including peer support and collegial collaboration — in ethical self-care and burnout prevention.
Develop a personalized "Sunscreen Plan" outlining small, sustainable self-care actions aligned with ethical standards.
