Under the Wild Moon
A Monthly In-Person Circle of Support, Learning, and Creative Expression for Women at Any Stage of Peri/Menopause.
Facilitated by Carly Bassett, LCSW-S and supported by local medical and professional Menopause Wellness Specialists.
This is a one-of-a-kind offering for women who are tired of struggling and suffering through this phase of life alone, and left to “do their own research” or blindly trust Instagram menopause influencers who seem to offer all the solutions that seem too good to be true.
If you are exhausted by the confusing and contradictory messaging about what is available and beneficial for you at this current life stage, this group is for you.
Support & community is often a significant missing piece and we are done with navigating it solo. Be a part of a cohort of women who are ready to reclaim mid-life and honor the parts of themselves that need nurturing, acceptance and support.
This circle is structured around three components:
1) Supportive Community
2) Psychoeducation by Experts in their Fields
3) Creative Expression to process, release and birth parts of your experience that words alone cannot describe
What to Expect
Expect hands-on fun, supportive staff, and a mix of structured activities and open play. This is a space where campers can move, make, imagine, and grow.

Best for women noticing changes related to peri/menopause, no matter your age

When I turned 40, it seemed like things started changing in my body and I was not thinking about perimenopause at all.
“You’re too young” I would hear from various providers. After a while I noticed my friends were experiencing the same changes and frustrations. Menopause-focused ads started popping up all over my feed. I started to read more articles and books. I fired by gynocologist who finally told me she thought this was perimenopause, and then never followed up with me on how to manage. I found myself connecting to an online menopause tele-med practice and finally felt seen and heard….but also so confused. Everything they told me and prescribed was the exact opposite of what my physicians had said. This made me doubt EVERYTHING.
My PCP told me that I should “just accept the changes as they come” and I looked at her with tears in my eyes and nodded. My new gynocologist seemed more compasionate….at first. I left my last visit and sat in the car and cried for 45 minutes because I felt so shamed and insulted by her for wanting to feel better. Her condescending tone when she told me “ I honor the women who came before us and they navigated this phase of life with grace and did not need all this intervention” left me stunned.
The more I thought about what she said, the angrier I became. The insinuation that honoring women who came before us by suffering silently seemed like the worst way to honor them! I want to honor women by listening, validating, responding, supporting and considering new opportunities that exist because of research and modern medicine. It feels like the Wild West in a lot of ways. I don’t want to be coming up with my own treatment plan, but i do want to have confidence that those involved in my care actually CARE about the experience I am having.
I have observed too many otherwise highly intelligent and strong women crumble in the face of addressing their peri/menopause concerns. This group is meant to change that through empowerment and support. It’s what we as women do best. We see a need, a lack of resources, and we respond to fill the gap. Join this Circle and change the way you navigate this phase of life. Do it for the women who came before us, but most importantly do it for YOURSELF.

You do not need a formal diagnosis of perimenopause or menopause to join this Circle.
Generally speaking, this group will attract women who are in their 40s or early 50s and are experiencing changes in their bodies, mental health or relationships due to “mid-life.” Even if you do not feel like you are struggling or suffering, but want to prepare for this phase and equip yourself with knowledge and resources, you are welcome to join.
